25 October is a meaningful day for SCMC as we remember Grandmother Amporn Tancharoen, who was born on 25 October 1930. She was the mother of Dr. Pattanath Srisukho and the grandmother of Dr. Chanesd Srisukho, known as Doctor Gla, the founder of SCMC.
A tailor by profession, Grandmother Amporn taught Doctor Gla to show compassion towards other people and relatives. Her lessons shaped his upbringing and encouraged him to approach people with understanding. They remain part of the personal foundation on which he has built SCMC.
Tailoring calls for careful workmanship, attention to detail and an understanding that each person is different. For SCMC, her story connects with an approach to care that considers the individual, including their needs and the circumstances of their life, with respect and kindness.
This family heritage also forms part of SCMC’s Animation Episode 0 project. Through family memories and values passed between generations, the project tells the story behind the organisation and helps explain the ideas that have shaped its growth.
On Amporn Tancharoen Day, we remember Grandmother Amporn with love and gratitude. Her teaching about compassion towards others and family remains a lasting influence on the values and intentions behind SCMC today.
